Leadership Development Series with Annie Canning

Workshop Two: Building Performance through coaching and development - establish consistent habits and support ongoing staff growth.

This workshop helps leaders cultivate a consistent coaching habit to drive performance and development. It integrates goal setting, values alignment, and balancing people with process, while establishing a no-blame accountability culture. Participants learn to partner with their team as coaches, tailor development to individual strengths, and bridge generational expectations. Through practical tools and structured practice, leaders build a sustainable rhythm of coaching conversations that accelerate results and enhance engagement.

Objectives:

  • Establish a repeatable coaching habit that drives performance and development.

  • Create a culture of accountability with constructive feedback (no-blame approach).

  • Balance developing people with optimising processes, leveraging strengths, and aligning with values.

  • Navigate generational needs to better engage and retain diverse talent.

Outcomes:

  • A coaching conversation toolkit and a sustained coaching rhythm (including prep, dialogue, and follow-up).

  • Accountability agreements and a reinforced no-blame feedback culture.

  • Prioritised improvement plans that align people development with process optimisation.

  • Greater awareness of generational needs and practical strategies to meet them.

  • Visible linkages between individual development and organisational goals.
